I have few questions to you guys:

- Could you recommend me a book you think is worth giving a read (somethign I might not know about?)?

- What 35mm film would you recommend to get a dirty looking feel to photos (b&w)? (where can I get it?)

- What lens would you recommend for macro quality macro shots (Canon)?

It all depends on your budget. I would definitely recommend Canon 60D as it will last your for ages, though it might be a bit to complex for the beginner. On the other hand if budget permits that is my recommendation.

I myself started with Canon Powershot Pro1, but my bet is that you will get dissapointed with it pretty quickly. So if you have a limited budget, trying going for earlier Canon SLRs (350D or 400D).

Let me know your budget and I might help you better.

thanks! i think i'll be going for the canon slr 350D. just to make sure, is there anything else you'd recommend for a budget of $500-600?
