The overhead space bothers me, there is so much of it that it would seem that the wall is the subject. I think there would be other backgrounds that may add more to the concept.

I would think square up the chair next to here so it looks more connected to her and tilt the camera down so she fills more of the frame. This would also keep the lower edge of the frame from cutting across her in an awkward spot. The original painting was cropped at the waist, but since the chair is part of your subject, probably around the knee would be better.

Maybe put a tool in her hand that says something who she is. In the original painting used a pitchfork establishing him as a farmer.
